Our Range

The OSRC range has five firing-points at distances from 10m Air Pistol up to 25 yards Prone. It was refurbished, with extremely generous assistance from Jaguar Land Rover, over the winter of 2015-2016, and, as a result, has been substantially remodelled internally, rewired, repainted, and has had significant upgrades to the heating, lighting, security systems and clubroom.

The range is part of the main Silhillians Sports Club building, also recently refurbished and extended, which provides toilets, changing rooms, and showers. Please note that, in order to prevent fouling of the sports pitches, dogs (other than guide and assistance dogs) are not permitted on site.

Refreshments

We have a fully licensed bar on site - this always has at least one real ale on the go, as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks, crisps etc, and is always a good spot for an informal social after shooting. On winter weekends, the refreshment facilities are further enchanced by the sale of freshly-cooked chips and hot bacon rolls.

Training and Equipment

We do encourage members to bring their own firearms and equipment, but we have a selection of club prone and LSR rifles, air pistols, and associated equipment for use by those who are getting started in the sport. Ear defenders are mandatory for rimfire and strongly encouraged for air pistol, and the club has a generous collection of these available. We welcome membership applications from those with little or no experience of target shooting, and can offer both the services of a qualified coach and plenty of advice from members with wide-ranging experience stretching back decades.

Costs

We charge an annual membership subscription - currently £70, juniors £35. There is a range fee of £1.50 per visit (£2 for non-OSRC visitors), and if you need rimfire ammunition to be supplied on-range then we can sell you some at £4.50 for a box of 50 rounds. We don't make a separate charge for targets, for the use of club firearms or equipment, or for coaching, and the car park is also free to use.
